Context :

The SCA Fishing group is a subsidiary of the Agromousquetaire group – fishing sector. They are responsible for the manufacturing of factory fishing boats across all the oceans of the world. We intervened on their factory boat “Le Palangrier.”

Issue :

The group reached out to us because their boats are subject to new regulations regarding the management of their production waste. Previously, this waste was released into the sea, but it turns out that this disrupts the fishing ecosystem in the area… The challenge was to find a solution to valorize this waste into co-products and enable the company to properly recycle them.

Solution Provided :

By combining a grinder to fluidize the mix and a caustic solution, the company transforms fish co-products into soup and transfers it into storage holds while the boat is at sea. Then, this soup is collected by farmers and used as fertilizer.

Benefit :

Reduction of waste and valorization into co-products, decrease in pollution in fishing areas.
